1608 ip phone

Hi all,

I have a 1608 ip phone that says BAD ROUTER.
I have configured all the values that the phone required and we try to set them again, the router value says: 0.0.0.0
The rest of the values are saved.

Also, at the beginning the phone ask for a password, not a extn pass.

Are you using DHCP or Static addressing? What version of IPO...

Try a mute clear on phone and program again..

You get bad router when the phone cannot ping the router's IP address.
Sometimes people set their firewalls to be unpingable.

Verify your router's address.. Do you have any other IP phones working? You could try using the IP office address as your router..

I have a couple of phones working. And I check the config of those phones and try to use that and change the phone´s ip address. But no luck.

Why don't you use dhcp?
That always works.
I have this issue too and i never took the time to find out why this happens.

I had the exact same problem with one of my phones. I verified the settings dozens of times and they were correct. My problem occurred in a lab setting so my solution may not work for you.
I went in and cleared out the settings for the router. To do this, I just put zeros in the fields, 0.0.0.0. I then put in the proper call server IP address and subnet mask. After I did this, the phone came up and connected fine.

First you put 0´s in the router field or in all fields ?
And then you put all the right values ?

Remember that I had this problem in a lab environment so your results may vary.
I put in the following:

Phone: IP address of the test phone
Call SV: IP Address of IP Office server
Router 0.0.0.0
Mask: appropriate Subnet Mask
File Server: 0.0.0.0
VLAN: I left blank
