1416 Handset Locked

Hello folks,

I have a 1416 series handset which is locked. its on a IP500v2 (9.1.800.172)

the customer has a basic system with basic users. i don't know how the phone got locked in the first place but i can get them to unlock it however it locks itself again after 60-90 seconds..

any ideas why this would be happening. SSA doesn't show anything as locked etc
 
The handset has been swapped over and the fault stays with the same extension. the system has also been rebooted
 
so you have replaced the handset and it still locks up, try removing user and then recreate user and then retest
 
yip. it looks ok for a minute then says phone locked. also phone locked straight from the reboot.

ive already deleted and recreated the user... just waiting on the callback from the customer... fingers crossed.
 
Yeah. i deleted the user and recreated and it resolved the issue.

im tending to find that doing this is becoming as common as a system reboot..

yeah they have essential edition... what i mean is that its not a bells n whistles system. nothing complex.
 
Lets hope it was because they had enabled the auto-lock function within the phone menus.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
 
I had a similar issue with two 1608 phones on an se. 100 odd users and two started locking during the install. Deleted and recreated the users and issue never returned.

sizbut - apart from looking at the physical handset screen, is there a way of telling (using SSA or monitor) if a phone is locked or not?
