14120 Errors 'Arrrrgghh'

I have setup an ISA server on my network installed for both Firewall and Proxy Server intergrated. this was in an attempt to get MS Messenger to work and that we may use it as our firewall in the future.

The server has 2 Network Cards both configured on the same lan and hence the same network scheme 150.21.1.x.

For every internet access iget a 14120 error and the ISA server appears to be very slow when accessing the internet from my client. I have downloaded some useful guides from

http://www.isaserver.org

and implemeneted them byt still no avaial.

Is the fact i have both cards on the same lan causing my problem or should this not matter. I sort of understand that the 14120 errors are because u are attempting to reach a host with the same ip address as the ISA server i.e the aserver it self, but the errors appears for every outbound internet request and the server itself is not perform any hosting at all.

Because of the security build into ISA it really doesn't like have both NIC's on the same network. It uses LAT tables to decide what networks are trusted and what networks are not trusted. If both NICs are on the same netowrk, it will have problems decyphering what is trusted/untrusted. Try giving the external NIC in a different network, and only add the IP address' of the internal network to the LAT table.

Hi, Silvas, no sorry i never found a resolution to the problem, what i did was installed proxy server on its own as we already had a firewall in place.

If i had of replaced the firewall with the ISA server i guess Joeb's answer would of come true.

Short ver, do not have the firewall portion of ISA on ure LAN as i tried to do, if u do not need the firewall side, do not install it.
