Here's an interesting problem:

When connecting a PRI T to the circuit via 102A the T1 will not come up, when hard wired to the TN2312 card itself it works fine....Tested the CSU's they are perfect.

these T's are terminated on a RJ48X which I have never seen done before. I think the loop bar built into the 48X may be screwwing up the CSU?, any ideas out here on this?

before I spend the time in the lab for nothing to find out someone has already figured it out?

Thanks.....

120A CSUs only work or circuits that are equipped with a 'smart jack', an electronic package that allows the carrier to do diagnostics remotely by issuing commangs to the jack.

Change near-end csu type to "integrated". Second page DS1 form.

I have installed T1's for many years on Avaya equipment, I am aware of the translations for many different types of T formats. I am sure it has to do with the termination point of the T from the provider. I just wanted some feedback from anyone who has had the same problem.

u said that u checked the 120a csu and it was good, but have u got it set up properly on the " change ds1 xxxxx" form to reflect that u are using integrated csu?
The other thing is, Avaya sent out a bunch of 120a csu that fail due to a faulty component provided by supplier.
The 120 csu is actually not a csu at all, but just a bunch of load balance resistors. The csu is built on the ds1 board.

I am sure it is an issue with the termination of the RJ48X jacks that the provider supplied. I am weel aware of the integration form on the DS1. Thanks for the assistance though......

Doesn't the RJ48X have an automatic loopback when unplugged? Also, did you use a straight-through cable to connect from the RJ to the CSU? Are you also using a TN464 or a 767 DS1 pack?
