I have an Avaya IP Office version 10.1 (52) As of 6.1.13 we have to dial a 10 digit code (512) area code. In my ARS I have the following entries...

Code = XXXXXXXXXXN
TN = NS5122446689
Feature = Dial 3K1
Line Group = 0

When I dial 9 to get an outside line, dial 512 then 7 digit number the display shows call: waiting on line and the phone beeps 4 times twice.

If anyone out there can shed some light on this I would be grateful.

Thanks,
TXYank

So you're saying on 6/1/13, you have to dial 10 digits for local calls now? Since it's only 5/17, they may not be accepting the 10 digits yet...try sending just 7 digits and see if it works.

AT&T claims it is setup, not confident of that though. Local calls still work without the area code. Just trying to get in front of this. I do know that other Avaya systems are able to. It could be AT&T. Thanks everyone!

Typically, if nothing in programming changes, and suddenly the lines don't work (and after a reboot is tried), it's the carrier. They have gremlins in their systems. If you feed them after midnight, or get them wet...watch out. Suddenly all local calls get routed to Budapest and there is an order for your 911 backup pots line to be disconnected. It happens.

Is there a semicolon at the end? XXXXXXXXXXN;

if not add it.

if so try replacing that code with xxxxxxxxxx;

then test

I had a long story typed up here with instructions on how to use SSA and Monitor but you need someone that shows you what to do. Ditch the Dallas cowboys and all their offices as they are useless, find a business partner local to you on the Avaya website and have them come in and show you the ins and outs.

these shortcodes in your ARS
XN; NS5122446689 Dial 3K1 9
XXXXXXXXXXN NS5122446689 Dial 3K1 0

should never be together as they are almost the same but with 2 different Line group ID's, have someone go over your system and fix problems like that.
