hi guys ok i thought its best to put this in a new topic

a client wants 1 DDI in HQ to ring at both sites, which are linked by SCN over VPN. normally in 4.0+ i would make 1 hunt group with all users, but these 2 boxes are 3.2. how can i solve this?

i have tried making a user in HQ site with forwarding to ext 1201 (short code for calling the hunt group in Branch site over SCN) which i then added to the local hunt group of the DDI HQ, but that doesnt work, when i try ringing that user, Monitor says: "CMTARGET: Off Switch Call Inhibited for line 5" even when all "inhibit off switch forward" options are unticked...

any ideas?
many thx.

You could create a HG on each side and forward a virtual user to the HG on the other side.

At the HQ create a virtual user, so a new user with a name lets say UserFwd nr 100, then it will ask if you want a voip extension click yes. Now create a ShortCode *99/dial/200/SCN (lets say 200 is you HG at the site B)
Forward the UserFwd to *99. Now add the UserFwd to your HG of the ICR and your done.

You're now able to put more then one user in both HunGroups on both sides.

bas1234: thx but thats exactly what i said i did in the original post :) i added new user with voip ext, then forwarded them like you say, when i try the DDI (as a test i have only that branch user in the hunt group) the call goes to the HQ voicemail, and monitor says:

CMTARGET: Off Switch Call Inhibited for line 1

Line 1 is the ISDN where the DDI call came in on...
I changed it to exactly the way you say (*99 etc) same thing...
All "inhibit off switch forward" options are unticked in manager...

It must work like that, what happens if you call the ShortCode *99 on the HQ side? Did you point the ShortCode to the SCN Line ID?

Another thing to try;

Create the same ShortCode on site B, change the ShortCode on HQ to *99/Dial/*99/SCN and make the ShortCode on Site B *99/Dial/200(HGrp)/0

Greetzz...Bas

If youre hunt group is setup as collective it wont forward the call. It can only forwars calls in linear, circular, and most idle huntgroups.

Can the guys at site b register with IPO at site A and then be part of the site A group?

Quaz

hi quazimotto didnt understand, if you mean part of usergroup to choose in HG in Site A then no because both are 3.2 and not 4.0+ :)

bdelmar: yes the HG is collective and i will address that BUT it doesnt work even if i route the DDI directly to just this forwarded user, it gives that error and then goes to the user's VMail!!

bas1234: i'm going into office now will let you know :)

right, must have been a config prob, i wiped config at both sites and redid it all...

it now works if i make a user like bas1234 said and did *99/Dial/200/SCN ...

BUT now i have hit the problem bdalmar mentioned, this HG is set to collective and needs to be that way, client wants it, they want the HG member phones at both sites to ring at same time, and whoever is free to pick up...

cheers for the help so far we are almost there! how can i get around this last one? :)

And is you do it the second way?!

Create the same ShortCode on site B, change the ShortCode on HQ to *99/Dial/*99/SCN and make the ShortCode on Site B *99/Dial/200(HGrp)/0

no that didnt work, HQ tries to route through and falls over so i get dead tone on the phone when i test...

There is no way around this, if it collective it wont forward. They either have to set it to any other then collective or they would have to upgrade to 4.0+ and get the advanced networking license.

Unfortunately just because the customer wants it, doesnt mean it can happen.
