I have an Abit KT7 mobo, Iomega 100Mb internal Zip and am using Win2k Pro (SP1). On boot, I get 0x7b inaccessible boot device stop message.
This has only occurred since I flashed my mobo to cure a BIOS problem that prevented it from booting without powering on/off twice. Obviously, I do not want to go back to that rev of the BIOS.
If I unplug the zip, it boots fine. I then have to plug the zip back in and search for new hardware to use it.
I have been through this with Iomega tech support, changed drivers, device boot sequence in registry & BIOS, IDE device setting in BIOS, looked for IRQ conflicts, changed IDE channels, etc to no avail. Have also re-applied SP1. I'd rather not have to spend the day re-installing software!
I have contacted ABIT tech support about this problem. No answer. I have looked on the suggested ABIT news groups, trolled MS TechNet and spent many hours looking on the web to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
Has anyone been through this with a successful outcome?
Steve
