For interoperability with the Win XP boxes, you should install NetBEUI on the Win2K server. This is a very common problem with Windows Networking between 2K and XP.

From the RV082 help

One-to-One NAT creates a relationship which maps valid external addresses to internal addresses hidden by NAT. Machines with an internal address may be accessed at the corresponding external valid IP address.
Creating this relationship between...
hudr,
1) The BEFSX41 should be using firmware version 1.45.7, since 1.50.x (especially 1.50.18) are trash. The 1.45.7 firmware is available on the www.dslreports site in the Linksys forum. You might also try the 1.51.0 firmware, but it has many other problems. To date, 1.45.7 is the most...
hudr,
Linksys tech support is wrong. I've setup a stable tunnel between two BEFSX41s (both on dynamic IP) and from an RV082 (also on dynamic IP) to each of the BEFSX41s. This is standard Gateway to Gateway configuration. There are a couple finer points, though.
1) Use DDNS setup in each...
There is a newer version of RV082 firmware now available, namely 1.1.5. It was posted 7/1/2004.
It's version history follows:
RV082 Firmware Revision History
v1.1.5 2004/06/19
1. In [Port Triggering] setting, allow users to configure port number as 0
2. Solve a problem that failed to...
hudr,
To date, the latest RV082 firmware version 1.1.4 has solved all known IPSEC VPN issues for the users who post to the DSL Reports site referenced above. Of course, a new bug may be discovered and reported tomorrow. But for now, I'd say you should certainly upgrade.
Hope this helps.

No, the subnets must be different on each end of the VPN for the routers to be able to determine where to send the traffic. Also, assuming both the home PC and...
Hooray!
I've been trying to get a post 1.1.1 firmware out of Linksys for weeks! They've consistently insisted no such firmware existed.
I'll be very happy indeed to see an update that addresses this VPN problem.
cwebbsr,
I took your advice and contacted Linksys Technical support. They insist that no firmware beyond 1.1.1 exists. Since I am using the 1.1.1 firmware and still experience the VPN Tunnel Drop and other issues, I was hoping to get Linksys to share the 1.1.3 wealth with me. Unfortunately...
It's most likely a WINS issue. You should be certain that the WINS Server is installed on your Win2K3 server on your home network and that the remote clients are using your Win2K3 server for DNS and WINS in TCPIP Advanced Settings.
Tour93,
I'm guessing that your cable ISP uses the MAC address it retrieves from the device connected to the cable modem to determine the IP address to assign you. When your router is connected, you always get one IP, but when your computer's NIC is connected to the cable modem, you get a...
Michael,
I agree that you must use the e-mail address version of connection, as well as Agressive mode, if your remote gateway is on a dynamic IP. I failed to mention it since the VPN Log of the RV082 pretty much tells you as much once you start trying to connect the tunnel.
So far, I've had...
Michael,
Check out: http://routerworld.dyndns.org/
Look under Interop Samples > Microsoft VPN Client.
This grad student in Taiwan has had this stuff working for months. Note: I don't think the Microsoft VPN Client supports connecting to anything other than a static IP Address. So you may...
