Hooray! I've been trying to get a post 1.1.1 firmware out of Linksys for weeks! They've consistently insisted no such firmware existed. I'll be very happy indeed to see an update that addresses this VPN problem.

It's most likely a WINS issue. You should be certain that the WINS Server is installed on your Win2K3 server on your home network and that the remote clients are using your Win2K3 server for DNS and WINS in TCPIP Advanced Settings.
