    Ok....in test I have an mixed 5.5 2K3 Exchange environment...during initial testing I just configured the backend 2K3 server for OWA with the forms based...cert...etc. I then implemented a FE server on the same network...I am unable to get to mailboxes.

    I have mixed 5.5 and Exch2K3 environment in test. I setup the backend server for OWA with SSL cert etc for testing. I then implemented a front end server, but I am unable to logon to a mailbox. I have the check mark set for this will be a front end server...the server is not in a DMZ... Any ideas?

    how many VPN appliances? Are they load balanced? Do they both have the correct ports open for Kerberos auth?

    look at the options in the remote desktop connection......under local resources uncheck printer...save as default.

    Kerberos Port 88 udp/tcp probably needs to be made available for traffic. AD uses Kerberos for authentication.

    You may not have to correct ports open for Kerberos.... Also, clients by default use UPD for Kerberos which is connectionless. Try switching to TCP which is much better http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244474/EN-US/ Port 88 udp/tcp must be open.

    it's no different. It will be listed as pre windows 2000 domain name in ad.
