There is no problem in keeping 2 WI servers in your network.
This should work without any problems.

Beleive it is also an option to replace the default explorer shell with the ICA PN.
This way the user will only get the autostarten published desktop.

There are 2 options you can use:
option 1:
Configure the citrix farm to use alternate address and open port 1494 (ica) in the firewall....
Not really a thing I recommend.. but it is an option...
option 2:
Install a Citrix Secure Gateway server in the dmz.
In the dmz will then be the Citrix...
Hello there,
Trying to get IP Softphone R5 working on a Windows 2003 TS.
Tackeled a lot of problems allready but now for the final one.
I am running in Telecommuter mode.
I can start the first client - configure it - login. Works
Then start the second client on the same server - configure it...
Seen the same problem on HP machines.
Could be fixed with installing ICA client 6.30 on the Thin Client.

Could be that UPD is not correctly installed on the servers... or something like that...

What you can do is check the event viewer of your terminal (citrix) servers if there are any terminal server licensing errors...
Then check your terminal server licensing server to see if you have any TS Calls available...

What office version are you using ??
For Office 97 doesn't look at the set policy's on hiding drives..
office 2000 didn't do that but there has been a fix released for this problem i beleive..
all other office versions should hide the drives....

Remote administration mode doesn´t even need TSCals.
TSCals are only needed when running application mode.
Only limitation with Remote Administration mode is that it is limited to 2 concurrent users.

Load manager indeed looks at the values you set...
And indeed.. a more powerfull server will host more users for it´s load balancer load is lower with the same amount of users...
So don´t worry about this.. ;))

best way to do this is indeed create a Citrix OU.
Place your citrix servers in this OU
Apply a computer based policy to set Computer related lockdown. (for instance the Group Policy Loopback mode should be replace)
Next create a user lockdown policy.. For the admins set a "deny apply policy"...
You can accomplish this by hiding the server drives (HideDrive Calc)....
Only problem you can have is that the program has some sort of internal "browser" and therefor doesn't check windows policy's..........
