Well, recently I installed a router over Isdn on a dual boot machine(xp home and xp pro on two HDs).The problem is
that on xp pro second HD I get disconnected and then I have to configure the netroute over again to establish the connection. My netroute isn't a cordless one and I suspect that it...
Recently I've been to troubleshoot an old pc(pIII 550 on a jetway 601CF mobo)mainly because it couldn't deliver any sound from applications.Since it had a second HD I decided to install windows 2000 pro(dual boot with 98)and spent an awful lot of time to find the video and audio drivers.I didn't...
Thanks for link to FAQ Xaqte but the trouble is that my disk is running windows xp and I couldn't possibly bother to format it;I only want to create a partition to install suse 9.3 and let the GRUB do the booting.
I'm thinking of partitioning my HD to install suse linux 9.3(don't ask why!).My first thought was to partition the disk with Partition Magic 8.Then I would let linux use its own boot manager instead of Boot Magic. From then on I should be able to dual boot to whichever os I please.Q:Is there a...
Thanks for the tip Turkbear, once I unistalled the new Nvidia driver and installed an older version everything was ok.But I was just wondering if the new driver had to do something with the Nvidia decoder.I mean if once you install the new driver you have to also install the decoder as well.
Hi guys,I've got a dual boot rig,one with xp home and the other with xp pro.In the home edition, whether I use MP10 or powerdvd 5 the picture and the colors are fine but with xp pro both MP10 and powerdvd deliver poor quality video especially when it comes to colours.Truth is though that I don't...
Guys, thanks for all the tips!the pc I was asking about is not the only one I've got and definitely not the fastest. But I don't really feel like dumping it.To be honest the only parts I haven't replaced are the mobo, cpu and memory. The rest are as good as new.I don't expect it to do miracles after...
Hi guys, right now my PC uses an MSI mobo with an i845 Intel brookdale chipset and a P4 1.8MHz(s 478)and SDRam memory modules.I'm thinking of replacing the mobo with a Gigabyte 81PE 1000G I865 supporting DDR but I'd like to keep my old processor.I know that this mobo uses the same socket but I'm...
OK,I when I tried the integrated graphics again everything was fine, but with AGP nothing happens.Like I said I've used two different cards and two different monitors.I don't have a PCI card so I can't try one.The setting in the BIOS is for AGP first.Could it be a driver thing?
Ok,my mobo is an MSI MS-7005 with a celeron 3.4.When I boot there aren't any unusual sounds, everything sounds business as usual but like I said there is no signal. The monitor's led stays orange on my crt(nec)and my tft tells me that it's going to sleep cause there is no signal!!
Oh almost...
Hi guys,a couple of days ago when I turned on my pc there was no display signal.Ok I thought my FX went dead so I replaced it with an older(working)one.Nothing!Fine I thought the screen is playing games,so I tried another screen, nothing again! Now I'm beginning to get upset.Any ideas on what can...
Until recently I had two HDs both primary partitions on the same IDE channel one(master)with xp home and the other(slave)with xp pro. When the master disk was replaced with a brand new one I formatted it and installed xp home again. The problem was that there was no more dual booting;I could see...
Well to be honest,I've got to basic errors in the event viewer;one says disk and the other atapi.I have the feeling that my HD is about to fail me but I'm not sure though if the tricks the explorer is playing on me are due to these errors.
Hi SirNuke, thanks for the tip,but I've managed to sort things out.Well, it was silly of me but the card needed an extra push into the AGP slot! Thanks again anyway!
Hi,does anyone know for certain how to disable a SiS 315 onboard video from a MSI-7005 mobo? The init dispay first setting is set to AGP but when I insert the GForce FX5200 the screen remains in sleep mode.I've double checked the bios but there is no enable/disable option, and on the mobo I can't...
