I checked the size of the accounts on the machine,the admin. account is ~4MB and there is one user account which is 35MB. I did some cleaning of the user account and did a defrag afterwards but still the problem persists. it takes exactly 60 second before the hour glass turns to an arrow.

you can get this problem if you are using 2 different sets of incompatible SDRAM chips. Try to change the SDRAM to a single module and see if this fixes it.

The Max. resulotion I can get from the screen is 800X600. If I use the default system font the whole sceen will be taken by icons and the start button.
Oh! I guess here lies the confusion -- my screen is only 10.4" LCD monitor.
I have notebook with a screen that could handle 800X600 max. resolution. I would like to install windows XP on it but the problem is that the default system font in XP is too large. Is there a way to change the system font to a smaller one after installation? - I know win2K has a small font...
