    Second Phone Line won't hang up

    i had this problem. the relay that initiates the hangup in the modem is bad. (the click you hear before the modem draws a dialtone and right before you hang up). you can test your theory by plugging in a regular phone to that line and testing or testing your modem on another line.

    we've found that this problem occurs when centrevu is still up and running when the PC is hard powered off (not shut down properly). I've only been able to fix by uninstalling and reinstalling centrevu. i tried deleting the .tmp file but didn't work for us.
