Microsoft has a series of steps to configure a server so that configured to use a FIPS 140-2 cryptographic module. These instructions include enabling FIPS-compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing in the security options.
What I am asking, is can I leave all my applications...
My software vendor is requiring us to turn on FIPS 140-2 on all our Windows 2008 servers that run the application. Can we do this, one server at a time, while keeping the servers and the application up and running. Thanks.
I did see the last two links (so I get a 'yeah') but the first link you provided has the exact information I was looking for. It shows all the power options and actually explains what each selection is. I could not find that information any place. A BIG star for you (and many thanks).
I am looking for an explanation of all the options in Vista Advanced Power Options. These are some of the options below, and each option has several choices. Where can I find out what these choices do and the optimum setting for each one:
Require Password in Wake Up

Reading up on the trial version of Publisher, I find that after 60 days it reverts to a Publisher 2007 viewer, which is just what I am looking for.Thanks.
Thanks for your quick answer, but the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack is for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats only. I did find the Publisher forum, after I posted this question. I am trying over there, too. Thanks again.
Is there any way to view a Publisher 2007 document, when the only Publisher software available is Publisher 2000? Is there a separate viewer available? Thanks.
That was a good thought. But I did something else that was stupid. Somehow I had a folder in Personal Folders named Inbox and that is where all moved Junk Mail messages went. Thanks for your answer, though. I really appreciate it.
Using Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007. Level of Junk E-Mail Protection is set to LOW in Options. When I use Move To Folder to move a message from Microsoft's Junk Mail Folder to my Inbox, it disappears. I know I could have right clicked on the message in the Junk Folder and marked it as not junk...

So sorry - I did not see the second part of you answer, before I responded. I will post in the Office forum and see if anyone has any advice. Thank you for taking the time to answer - twice. I appreciate it.
I see that I was not too clear. On the server we have Exchange Server 2007. On the desktop we have Outlook 2007 & Office 2000. The problem is that Outlook 2007 and Word 2000 do not play well together. Certain functions in Outlook 2007 are greyed out and unavailable. These include some of the...
Installation includes Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007 & Office (Word) 2000. Predefined symbols, coorecting accidental usage of the CAPS LOCK key, capitalizing the first letter of a sentence and a few other rules will not work. This is documented as a problem.
Does anyone know a way around this...
