    When you install/update your audio driver in Device Manger, select option Search automatically for updated driver. Windows should locate the driver for you, just make sure you're online.

    Have you applied service pack, SP1 RC? It contains enhancements to file move/copy functionality in Vista. Final release is expected Feb 15 so you may want to wait a bit longer in case you have not yet installed RC release.

    There is no problem with your computer. I concur, it is probably referring to your optical drive. What is listed when you click the icon AND Safely Remove Hardware ? New window should open listing your devices.

    I doubt this is a hard drive issue even though if you change the drives and reinstall the problem will go away. When hard drive causes a freeze up it freezes up everything.     Click start, type Power Options and hit enter, on the left click Change when the computer sleeps. Use drop down next to sleep option and select Never for battery and plugged in profiles. Click save changes below.

    I would suggest using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 or VMWare for all of you that require XP while running Vista. It is a lot better solution than dual boot OS. dual boot OS is so 90's :)

    If your machine is crashing after SP1 than there is something wrong with your installation. My guess would be 64-bit edition you are running has some compatibility issues with some of the supplied drivers. I think if you install 32-bit Vista you'll be a lot happier and you will save yourself...

    Is your WiFi network name unique or generic? Have you tried updating the router firmware? Does rebooting the router, not the laptop, fix the issue? Have you tried resetting the router back to factory settings? Did you try updating WiFi driver on the laptop as well?
