My organization's smtp server is still running on 2008 R2. I am going to build a 2019 server to replace it but I am having trouble finding out how to migrate the configuration from the 2008 server to the 2019 server. Does the community have any ideas or links on how I can migrate the smtp...
I have been tasked with upgrading our old Windows 2008 R2 CA server to a new OS and I would like to know what the community thinks would be a good OS to upgrade to - 2012 R2 or 2016? Is there any caveat to upgrading the CA to either OS? So far my research has not come up with anything.
I administer an IBM V7000 and we are looking to increase the space. I was told that someone used a formula to determine how many SSD disks to buy based on how many FC disks they bought. Or maybe they purchased say, 5TB of SSD space because they bought 20TB of FC space.
Has any one heard of a...
This is driving me crazy!
I have a PE2950 with a dual port QLE2460 installed. It is connected to a Brocade switch, along with a Pillar SAN & a CX300.
I have the both ports on the 2950 zoned to the Pillar and the CX300.
I have the Navisphere agent and Powerpath (hindsight - not sure if PP is...
I'm going to lay it all out for everyone:
Me and my staff have limited experience with Exchange of any flavor. While we are in the middle of a SAN migration we have discovered that one of our servers in the DAG.... actually, we have two servers, one holds all of the DBs (let's call it the...
I am working with an ASA 5520 and it looks like the previous regime created a second subnet for servers but users who connect to the network via AnyConnect cannot to the second subnet.
Is there a simple way to add this second subnet via ASDM?

A few months after I left I found out my old manager was demoted. That's what happens when you become manager and all of your subordinates find new jobs!
"Dream job" was nightmare. They lied during my termination meeting (said I was told over and over...
I'm in a new job without any documentation. I want to add two blade servers to the SAN but first I need to add their WWNs to a Nexus 5010. Does anyone know how I can do this?
I'm at a new company and they are having issues with backing up a 2TB oracle database housed on a VMware virtual machine (not sure OS level). They try to snapshot the VM and the backup the data from the snapshot but it fails.
There has to be a better solution, backup system with VM agent, SSD on...
My job is great - I'm involved in projects, my opionion is sought out, I have much responsibility, I've even heard through the grapevine that the boss holds me in high regard.
The big problem is the micromanaging. The boss comes by 5-6 times a day, sometimes within an hour of each visit...
I am trying to understand GPOs in a Server 2008 R2 AD domain with domain servers that are running the same OS. What I want to know is, when remote desktop is enabled on the server, how is that allowed to run if a GPO against the OU the server is in only allows, say, inbound ports 80 and 443?
I have a number of LS2208 Symbol Scanners that change the case of the alphabet characters when Caps Lock is turned on.
The bar code has an alphanumeric code of B000123456789. With caps lock off that is how it shows up on the screen.
With caps lock on the upper case B becomes lower case. I have...
Dl360 G7 with iLo card. We have the ip addr in but are unable to ping the address.
We've verified the switchport is not in the wrong vlan.
We've verified that the ip used is unique.
We've updated the firmware on the iLO.
What else could be the problem?
It has been 10 years since I have had to do this. I have a Managewise server that I need to move from token ring to ethernet.
I forgot how to configure the card! The ethernet card is built into the motherboard, so how do I get the server to recognize it so I can configure it for use??
