i have that problem too, and my guess is that its because win2k uses an autoplay and not an autorun file. its obviously supposed to be backwards compatible but my comp doesnt autorun any of my cd's and i made sure that this feature is enabled about everywhere.
when you change refresh rate or resolution your monitor often changes shapes. play around with these settings, they may have changed automatically.
also play around with your gpu's settings, like device adjustment etc.

have you tried using a briefcase? create a new briefcase the same way you would a folder, and then follow the instructions on screen. its designed to do just what u want, an easy sync with laptops.

sure, create a shortcut to the drive letter, right click on the shortcut and in the shortcut key option assign a shortcut in the space provided. every time you press it the default action (the one bolded when you right click on it) will be run.

id suggest to first, get the latest software for your system - modem drivers, IE6 sp1, etc etc. also, disable third party stuff that accesses the internet.

yes it did help! when i quit games, stuff like icewind dale or warcraft 3, no wait times for the desktop to load - i have a 200mb temporary file cache for icewind dale, it took a few minutes for desktop to load after that before... thanx again.
have you tried adjusting the swap file? dont let windows handle it, rather set it to 2x-3x the size of ram. or you can disable swap file and see if it works. i think it might help.
2k pro can handle up to 4gb of ram so its not supposed to be a problem...

yes, there is an 'install information' text file (or 'uninstall information'). all reg keys & files are stored there, and its in the directory where you installed your program. i hope you didnt delete this file...
