The drive never worked. It shows up in device manager but, when I put a disk in, and go to explorer, nothing shows up. If I try to go to the drive, it says "drive not available". It acts as though it's not there.

Thanks for the quick response. We are running UPS tracking software, so we call up a screen and print it. This works fine from the other pc. Both pc's are new Dell's. This is in the shipping dept.

I have an HP laserjet 1300 on our NT network, and 2 Dell's in one department running XP pro. One pc prints from the internet fine, the other pc doesn't. Word or anything else prints fine to the printer. As far as I can see, all the options are the same.

check you're wiring back to the hub(switch). Maybe the port on the hub went bad, or a wire got pinched.

Sounds like you're DNS settings. go to your DNS settings and only check: append primary and connection... and register this connection address...

When I try to add a printer to a Dell laptop, the local printer is greyed out.

If someone remotes in to my machine,the screen goes black and the screen lock window appears. You can't see what they are doing. How can I see what they are doing?

tried you're 1st option , got error "error in advpack.dll missing entry: launchinfsection"

It's a Dell latitude 266 running XP pro and whatever media player comes with it.

when trying to play an audio cd, get a media player error "an internal error has occured". Uninstalled and reinstalled realplayer and mediaplayer. It's on a Dell laptop, and used to work fine

If I have a user that quits and another user that will use their machine, how can I keep the desktop (programs & icons) for the new user the same? I just want to change the login, they will be doing the same work.

check the options in the tv to see what input it wants. I had this problem, but was brain dead when I fixed it, can't remember what it was. when I get home tonight I'll try to figure it out.
