Thanks Stussy!
I tried installing OpenManage 3.3.3. I do have the option go just use the Array Manager, I select console, I'm prompted to connect to a computer and the server name does appear, I check add to favorites box then hit okay. I'm then prompted for a remote login which I cancel...
Thanks Stussy!
I had a hardware consultant come have a look at it and part of our problem is that the cartridge is jammed in the autoloader. He didn't think that the BIOS or EMS had anything to do with it at this point. So I guess I'm calling dell again.
As far as the OpenManage, I have...
We are using Dell PowerEdge 6400 with an external PowerVault 120T DDS4 autoloader attached, the OS is NT4. We had a series of 3 power failures hit and the server is no longer recognizing the backup device. The cartridge with tapes is stuck in the machine and the display indicates a hardware...
I am trying to install GFI Faxmaker on our Exchange server to integrate with Outlook 2000 clients. This is a WinNT 4, Exchange 5.5 box and I put the Eicon card in. At first it didn't work because we were shipped the wrong software. That's been corrected and the board now passes the line test...
I have tried to configure our CEO's calendar to refuse meeting requests sent directly to him. I set up a delegate, his assistant, to receive all this type of information. I checked off the box for sending meeting requests and responses only to his delegates, but he has just received a meeting...
We just purchased a new Dell PowerEdge 4600 tower configuration with redundant power supply, 2 Xeon 2.4gb processors, 1gb SDRam, 2 36gb mirrored drives for our c drive, and 4 36gb drives Raid 5 for data. This server joins 6 others. We have a small UPS that handles the monitors, and our...
I have been trying to set up VPN on a users PC. They have Windows ME and a cable modem. When I download the checkpoint software and install it , they lose internet connectivity. I never get to the point of setting up the site. It's an RCA cable modem and I did update the driver but that made...
One thing you can do is go to User Sessions within Server Manager since it will not only show you the logon, but the computer the folder is in use on. The drawback is that it will only show you the folder that is being accessed and not the individual file. That might give you some clues. You...
What do you mean? Is the mail ending up in the Inbox? Or do you have a rule set up to move it to a particular folder? Is this just for your email or is it organization wide? Or just some users?
We are using Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000. I have given send on behalf permissions to a manager's assistant. When I test this and send from the assistants mailbox as the manager, the header doesn't include the disclaimer "send on behalf of". I deleted the permissions off the server...
I don't think that there is anything wrong with the domain since Win98 VPN clients prompt for domain log on. I've already tried mapping the drive to the Exchange server and it doesn't work. The Exchange server is looking for domain authentication. If a Win2k client has properties set that...
I have a Win2K client attempting to VPN through a Checkpoint firewall to a NT4 domain. The client will authenticate on the firewall but is never prompted for the NT log on. This creates a problem because we can not connect to the Exchange 5.5 server. I have tied the exchange account to the...
Your best bet and fastest solution is to restore the folder from a backup. Also, check your permissions to make sure users, with the exception of the folder owner and the admin, don't have the ability to delete. Users "never" delete anything but it happens.
I have a user who would like to have the default file location in insert files in Outlook 2000 changed. By default, it points to My Documents and he would like it to default to his network folder.
I went to the MS site and used kb 252732, a registry hack. Once I finished, I re-started outlook...
We are using a Checkpoint firewall and have recently installed MS Exchange 5.5. I am trying to set up an Outlook client to access the Exchange server through vpn. Is this possible? What do I need to do to on the Exchange server to achieve this? This is a managed firewall so I wouldn't be the...
I had a similar problem connecting a Win98 client through a checkpoint firewall. The solution turned out to be placing a LMHOSTS file on the client. That pointed to the PDC for authentication and then what I did was enable SDL in the Checkpoint site configuration, on the client, and also make...
I am having difficulty getting this to work correctly. I have a user on maternity leave. A co-worker turned on the out of office assistant but neglected to put in any text. When I tested it from an AOL account, when it had no text, I received it. After I added text however, and re-tested, I...
I am a new Exchange administrator and have been monitoring our outbound queue, messages waiting to be delivered. One thing I have noticed that I can't find information on is in the originator field, instead of a user name, I see this symbol <>. What does that mean? Am I being used as a relay?
