Hi All,
I have been experiencing a stop error from time to time which always seems to be the same culprit. It up to date has not followed any rhyme or reason, just occuring spontaneously. I get the following error codes after the usual XP Blue Screen preface, "have you installed new hardware, is...
It was a P35 Chipset on a Gigabyte EP35DS3 board. This was then changed to a DS4 board and we still had the grief.
The processor is an Intel Core 2 8400 with 2 Gig of Kingston 667 Value Ram, which turned out to be the main contributor to the issue.

Steve
This issue turned out to have an unlikely cause. Without subjecting everyone to the long and involved story, the machine had a conflict with the ram, causing all sorts of strange behaviour. I had Kingston with proprietary Kingston chips and we had all this trouble. In the end it was swapped out...
I have just built a brand new machine, fresh build of xp etc and would appreciate any input on a problem that has come up. The Gigabyte motherboard I am using has a Realtek HD audio chip, and for the life of me I cannot get the driver into it. The build was all finished and I realised that audio...
Hi All
I have recently installed Media Player 11 and have the following problem:
I have two identical video files side by side on a drive, the first captured in DV, The second captured in MPG.
MP 11 plays DV perfectly, but presents a flickering green screen when the MPG file is opened.

I appreciate both of your replies and opinions. The only reason I have stuck to this line of reason is that this Coolermaster Cavalier case presents to me as the perfect aesthetic beginning to a machine dedicated to audio applications. It has front mounted VU metering and in a few small words...
I am presently planning to build a machine beginning with a Coolermaster desktop case. After some research I have realised that the PSU in this model is proprietary and a smaller size than general. I am aiming to have this machine fairly high spec and believe that an aftermarket supply will...
Thanks, will try it. The young man actually mounted a box titled "i Love You!" and in small point characters within the box was the girls name. Very funny 8 months later when it is still there........:)
Appreciate your advice and will let you know
Steve
I presently have a small riddle that i would deeply appreciate some advice with!
For a joke, one of my daughters young friends added a file to our Win 2K machine, causing it to do the following:
When the machine is started it goes through the post test, past the black loading screen, then to the...
Hi All
Am Just about to add an external 300 gig drive purely for the purpose of music storage. Am wondering if there is any advantage in partitioning this drive at all?
It will purely contain wav and mp3 for archiving with no operating system considerations. I would welcome any opinions.
Thanks...

Hi All,
My thanks to Linney, tried the fixes but no luck there.
I even uninstalled the office suite to see if any change but none present.
I ran the sfc /scannow command, and it requested the xp cd as you predicted. Finished and nothing further.
I checked the event logs and nothing obvious was...
Greetings to all
I have recently discovered after trying to open notepad with no success that the Add/Remove windows components seems to be inoperative. I get the error message as follows:
"Setup was unable to open information file iis.inf
