This sounds similar to when Xerox introduced the 8400 to replace the 860. Alot of customers were dissatisfied with the resolution of the 8400 compared to their older 860. I even ran tests with prints I had on both printers adjusting the color correction and resolution on both machines and teh...
You say heating cycle and I will assume you mean cleaning cycles. I have run into this only once on the solid ink printers and it took a new printhead to correct the problem. My first guess is the printhead since you seem to have a totally new problem after replacing the head. Thats not saying...
I am a former Tek/Xerox and 3rd party service partner and after returning from Iraq found I have no job and hence any use for parts and 340/360 and 840 printers. These are available for parts, though all 3 are operational. I also have a number of new spare parts for these and other printers. If...
Your drum heater consists of 2 150w bulbs which have probably blown out based on the error code. The cost of the bulbs is about $15 for 2, which can be purchased at lowes or home depot. You need to remove the drum heater assy and then pop out the old bulbs and then install new ones and...
There are a number of things that can cause light prints, from enviroment issues such as humidity, toner depletion, print settings, print cartridge drum failures or end of life, and fuser failure. Further troubleshooting and isolation is needed to properly identify the cause.
I have never glued a flag back so I can't attest to how it would affect the sensitivity of teh sensor. Ideally you should put the printer in diags and test each sensor to figure out which one is being tripped that would help you narrow down the problem. It very well maybe the upper feed roller...
You will not find that part listed as stated above that is part of the drum/transfix assy. In early models,340-360 the stripper finger assy, which was replaced by the rapid release guide, was an orderable part and that cam came with the assy.
There is a sensor assy inside the front cover behind teh metal plate. Either a piece of paper is stuck holding the sensor tripped or one of the flags is broken. You can either run a piece of cardstock up through teh feed rollers to try and clear or remove the metal plate and inspect the flags...
The crum is the the counter, small square piece that sits in the slot of the maintenance drawer, that comes with the new maintenance roller, they need to be replaced together. Also these crums are dated stamped so if the kit was new and unopened yet purchased over a year ago there is a chance the...
Hold the back and info button down when powering up, this should put printer into diags. Run the toner dispense motors, compare the black to cyan. The dispense motor maybe binding. you can remove teh toner cartridge and watch for the auger to turn. Toner may either be clogged in the tube or...
Xerox ink will have a stamp on the bottom of each stick. If you are seeing multiple missig jets (10+)in one color plus missing jets in others and you print solid fill of each color and the missing jets get worse the more you print then it sounds like you have a failure due to 3rd party ink. The...
Sounds like the fuser has developed a flat spot, thus the thumping noise as it prints and the jamming. This happens if the fuser rollers sit in one spot against each other for long periods. Replacing it will probably resolve your problem.
From what you describe, the pages are solid black from edge to edge? If this so then the things I would look at are the high voltage board , which maybe what was replaced, and the high voltage contacts and the assy in which the bias roller is mounted.
If you are getting constant light stripes and cleaning cycles are not recovering or only recover temporarily then you need either or both the printhead replaced and or the wiper assy which cleans the head. If you have an onsite warranty/contract then I suggest you do no more than 3 clean cycles...
Check the disk position of the drum encoder. If it is not properly centered in the sensor and it rubs on either side of the sensor it can generate the error you describe.
The 16,004.46 error indicates the paper preheater is not heating, this is different that the drum heater even though the drum heater and paper preheater are part of the same assy. Replacing the bulbs probably will not resolve your problem unless you are getting a 15,004.45 error. There is a...
