Can you be more specific. I assume you are creating the users in the Users and Computers snap-in. You won't see the mailboxes until either the mailbox is opened or a message is sent to it.
During your coexistance period you will need to run both the SRS and ADC. These tools were created to assist the migration, but are not built to run for long periods of time. Why is your migration going to take so long?
Why are you ytying to administer the Exchange 2003 box with the 5.5 tool. That will not work. You need to use the system manager tool that also should of been installed. In the system manager, the server should appear under the admin group tab.
You must also add the domain to the Recpiant Policy, and select the checkbox that says something like "Responsible for delivery". Without this it will not except mail.
If the Email address are not being created that usually means that the RUS is not working. Can you force a RUS update to occur? If that works then you need to determine why the RUS is not running. It shouldstamp the new mailboxes within a few minutes.
