    Compaq EVO N160 Microphone

Have you went into the sound properties and checked to see if the mic has been muted? (in control panel under sounds) Hope this helps, WMH WMH MCP+I, MCSE

How Do I Erase The Entire CMOS?

Unfortunatly (as you know), you can not just replace a BIOS chip on a motherboard. After clearing the CMOS, remove the memory chips and let set for abit (unplugged). Then flash the BIOS with the latest and greatest. If this is CH, it's probally fudged. This is not a new virus (ie; win95)...

    on SDRAM

As long as your M/B supports PC133 and it will handle that much memory, should have no problems. Make sure the board will handle that much memory and can run PC133. Hope this helps, WMH MCP+I, MCSE

MS XP will not boot properly

Did you load the service pack for XP? I have seen (and even had) problems with XP after installing SP1. If you did install the SP1, try going to add/remove programs and uninstalling it. As for the camera, try going to the manufactures web site to see if they have the latest drivers for...

Changing chipset causing inaccessable boot device

Since you have changed the arcutecture of the motherboard in the system registry, try this; boot into safe mode, remove any devices pertaining to the old motherboard and any other devices (ie; modem, nic, video, etc...)from device mgr (assuming you are running Win 9X), when you reboot in normal...

2 Web site with 1 IP adress

Add on to my last reply. You could use host headers if you want to host more than one web site using one IP. Just thought about that. So yes you can. WMH MCP+I, MCSE

2 Web site with 1 IP adress

Yes but you will need a DNS server to point to the different IP addresses on your web server for the different sites (ie; www.xyz.com 192.168.0.100, www.abc.com 192.168.0.101, etc...). If InterNic is just pointing to your web server, no. Hope this helps, WMH MCP+I, MCSE

Modem connects but will not display web pages...please help.

Try a different modem, if that doesn't work try reloading the OS over the top. Very likely that the winsock is corrupt. If you had AOL on here at one point, the AOL VPN crap that is loaded may be causing the problem. You can try killing the TCP/IP stack and rebuilding that. Hope this helps...

    domain name

Your inhouse domain name is what ever you want it since it is not accessed from the outside world (unless you want it to be). Since you have registered www.xxxx.com, a pratice I like to use for ease of use is to just name your domain "xxxx.com". As long as you have your network set...

    WInME keeps installing non-existant MODEM!!!!!!

Since you mentioned that you have intergrated sound, was this modem on a riser?? If you look in the BIOS, is there an entry for the modem? If so, disable it and try removing the device from device mgr. again. Hope this helps, WMH MCP+I, MCSE

Even after 2 fresh installs of the OS on re-formatted drives, prob rem

www.motherboards.org is a good place to find a bios update. If updating the bios doesn't help, try reinsatlling the OS without any cards (use basics ie; video, SCSI if you have a SCSI drive, CD Rom). Problem may be caused by something like a sound card, modem, NIC, etc... Even try different...

    Cannot Boot

Sounds like you need a new Hard Drive. Was it making some kind of clanking or tapping sounds prior to it not working now? Even though BIOS sees it doesn't mean it is good. If you have an old Hard Drive laying around without anything on it (or even borrow one from someone), stick it in and see...

    lost password

When you installed the OS, you should have supplied a administrative password (unless this is a network computer supplied by your network administrator), if not, try the admin account without a password. If you can't remember the password and have no 3rd party software, try reinstalling without...
