As i have written in my first thread that i have tried to installed linux backup agent, but i am not able to view the agent on the backup exec server. I went to the veritas, where i found the tar file in their documentation they have written linux agent must be installed using FTP on agent server.

I have queried this to veritas people and they have responded that unix agent is not compatible to Linux 7 or linux 7.1.

I have downloaded the tar file, but its documentation says to install the agent using FTP services, can anyone tell me how to install using FTP. I have move tar file using ftp to linux server, but how to install is a QUESTION.

We have find a solution after lot of testing at our end. Some of our users are using Office'97/2000. and we found that those persons, who are using same .pst file from outlook'97/2000 are giving problem. Person using Outlook Express is not getting the mails from those persons who are using...

May be he has applied a filter condition for display only unread messages, or may be during his absense someone might have read those messages.

We are also facing the same problem sometimes and we find out 2 reasons for that :- 1. may be address of any of the receipient is improper. 2. and also please note : at that time your line is connected to ISP or not, if yes, disconnect that line and try to send those undelivered mails...

May be u have not checked the option of deleting the mails from ther after downloading, that's why u are getting same mails no. of times. usha sharma

First of all Please open up the Microsoft Outlook'98 with a password and then GO to the TOOLS MENU >> SERVICES >> PERSONAL FOLDER >> PROPERTIES >> CLICK ON SAVE PASSWORD IN PASSWORD FILE. Then close all the restart outlook, it will not prompt u for password Usha Sharma

Have u added the services in your network settings (control panel). if not, please go to the control panel >> network then add services and select veritas from the list. On the server end, please enable workstation support and re-execute the backup exec at server's end. Hope this will help

Without purchasing veritas for multiserver, can we not take backup then what is the use of providing agent services alongwith the Backexec Software.
