DaveGoTech,
Does the LW630 have a filter assembly? I had the same problem with a LWIIf (if I remember correctly - was many years ago). The filter was changed by a tech and the printer began working again, for another year. then quit. By then we had switched the network to HP LW, so we...
First, make sure that you know where the end of your SCSI chain is and make sure that only that device is terminated.
I've run into the same problem on my StarMax 603e and it sporadic. One thing that helped was rearranging the order of the SCSI devices. It seems to like some better than...
You might try launching Norton Anti-Virus - the program - and selecting Live Update. If the program does not see a good connection, it should launch the connection wizard so you can configure it for live update see your cabel connection when it needs to.
If that doesn't work, try going to the...
Thanks Danny D and GeorgeMack. Will try the Pref trick first before trying to script for the very first time.
Am able to get to the system - for those of you who have this trouble and this option: Used my SCSI 250 MB zip on my G3 powerbook, installed system 9.0 on it from CD. Then used it...
I ran into the same problem with WinFax files. No password was ever used, but after exporting the files and then trying to import them on another machine - password was required.
If anyone can help Tracy, I'll try a similar trick on these WinFax files.
Thanks.

Cuz'n Mark,
I'm in a small office using Peer-to-Peer as my sole network. I've seen a similar problem, but the cause may be different. I've one computer that seems to be the kingpin. When it does not see the network neighborhood, several of the other computers also have a problem. After...
You can also use Command (the apple key) +control + power on key on the keyboard. Just as comand+option+esc will (somethimes) allow you to end a non-responsive program, the restart combination will warm boot the machine. I'd suggest rebuilding your desktop (hold down the command and option...
Thanks to all. First: I zapped the PRAM 4 times (first two I got tone, but the corners of the screen did not dissappear). I've also tried booting with extensions off. Can see part of start up, but screen is dark before I can get to any system functions.
Kethry, I don't think it is an OS8.5...
I have a feeling that this one is my fault, but I haven't been able to fix.
I'm on a StarMax (yes I have a clone) 3000, 603e. I'm running OS9. The monitor is a Sony. I was in control panel and upping the resolution, comparing resolutions with colors available. At the higher resolution...
I have used both with not problems. I usually use Norton for everyday maintenance and the odd hard disk fix. It's interesting to note that Apple shipped the "lite" version of TechTools with my G3PowerBook. I've upgraded to full, registered version, but have not had to use it - knock...
Thanks. Since I'm the IT around here, I'll back up the entire disk to our server, and try the scandisk fix from the CD. I always wondered about that Dir directory. Haven't seen it elsewhere, but when it comes to windows, I am guessing most of the time. I'm a Mac Addict (3 at home and one on...
