    Wireless Hotspot take over

Hey guys, just asking for advice here. The company I've come to work for has a wi-fi solution that was installed by a company that is no longer in business. We're trying to locate a company that is willing to take over the wireless networks as I'm a one man department. There are about 50 of...

    Sonicwall and routing

I've recenly taken over a network that has 45 site to site vpn's setup using a Pro 2040. I'm at the central site along with the servers. If I do a tracert to one of the remote sites I don't see any of the Sonicwall devices in the path. Does this mean the entire network is operating as one large...

I have a remote site that runs the network off of a Wireless connection. It also has a full t-1 that we channelize for telephone connectivity. Would it be possible to somehow strip off part of the channels to carry data across if the wireless link was down. ** Genius is one percent inspiration...

    6408D+ Speakerphone issue

Just a thought, I have problems with the 6408 series also. My most notorious problem came from a user trying to use the speaker phone with an air vent directly above her. Needless to say to correct the problem we moved the phone to the other side of her desk.

    Paging "How I don't know"

Ok, here's my question I have a Definity switch that has loud speaker paging configured and it works. But when I look at "Display paging loudspeaker" it looks as if it's never been configured. When you use 129 you get the PA system but I can't figure out how it's programmed. Is there any other...

Question about collision fragments on a cisco switch

Ok, guys thanks for all of the input. On the two situations in question. One was an older pc w/ a 3com nic plugged into a cisco 3560 catalyst, the other was a newer pc with an intel nic. On the older machine w/ the 3com it turns out to be a 3com thing. The nic is trying to keep in time with the...

Question about collision fragments on a cisco switch

I'm leaning more towards the NIC causing this cause it's in the server room with the switch plugged in with a new patch cable directly to the switch. But as far as changing to fragment free I don't think you can change the 3560 series switching mode.

Question about collision fragments on a cisco switch

Not totally for sure on all of the stations, but i've got one that uses a 3com 3c905b card. I loaded the 3com diag software and watched it as i watched the switch. While transferring files between that workstation and mine I noticed that the Transmission Underrun counter incremented on the...

Question about collision fragments on a cisco switch

There's no hub, connected and both ends have been hard coded to speed 100 and duplex full. And it doesn't increment the collisions counter just the collision fragments counter.

Question about collision fragments on a cisco switch

I've got a couple of ports on our cisco switches at work that the "collision fragments" counter on the ethernet controllers statistics increments very slowly maybe 4 or 5 each day. The only problem is that these links are programmed as a full-duplex link. Most are hard coded on each end. I'm...
