    have you tried to create new user accounts with passwords have you shared all pc's. set up five pc's with xp + 2000 and 98 found i had to put them all in a workgroup or same domain for it to work. also used ipx for speed. you can use workgroup and mshome just quicker if you use one, hope this...

    Upgrade from Win98 to XP Pro

    if you do a fresh install of xp pro you will not req office 97, you can load office xp no problems. i think its better to do fresh install than upgrade with XP works every time for me, hope you have the same success.

    two netcards

    xp will recognise your network connection regardless of user you log onto,so unless you are networking or sharing your internet connection you dont need to use two NIC'S. hope this makes sense.
