how are you inserting it? the best way is to insert it as a linked DWG (go to insert, then linked DWG). You can then choose the layers you want inserted from autocad, make sure all the ones you want are there... solgu

I have the same problem!! Are you using 3d Studio Viz? I am, and the only solution I could find was to change the interface to 3d studio max, where the control panel appears docked by default. hope this helps, but if anybody knows a better solution... solgu
