I think you get free software updates/support for 90 days, without a separate contract. You can always purchase a contract if you want update firmware and controls. BTW, I don't write Cisco's policies..., just trying to share what I know.

Normally, you can only download the images with a valid service contract. Additionally, the newer the image usually requires more memory, so you would need to check,

By telnet, did you mean you are able to telnet to the Citrix port OK (I think it is 1494).

As it happens I had the same thoughts last week and through my quickie research came up with a starting point.
I set the following logging levels and set my logging host IP address (shown as XXX...)
logging on
logging monitor warnings
logging buffered warnings
logging trap informational...
I got the error for the first time last night, but have been having issues with the following error sporadically back to BENT 8.6.
Event ID: 11
Source: sonysdx-VRTS
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Tape0.

I was able to do it by first setting up a contact for the external account. Then, I set the Exchange account to forward and selected the contact.

I hope you purchased support with your software. I just upgraded and very little of their knowledge and support docs has been added to their website. They said they are working on it, when I called in and finally got last issues resolved.

I have only used version 8.6 and above, but I periodically have to tweak my OFO settings. They never worked when dynamically set so I had to set them. I think they were at 50MB min and 400MB maximum for a while. However, I was told that required different if the OFO default location was...
Just upgraded and ran into several issues. Biggest NT issue was push install of Remote Agent didn't seem to work. Still trying to resolve that issue.
All 2000 stuff went pretty well.

I've had problems with the remote to my last NT4 server. Over the weekend, I read it suggested to copy the RANT dir (under the folder agents) to the target server and run the setup as Ricardo suggested locally. I just did this and plan to test with my backups tonight.

I installed the AS9 on a new server and stopped services. I renamed the database dir on the new box. Then I copied database folder and the Q folder over to new box. When I started ArcServe 9, I did get an error about incompatible databases, but it let me save stuff. I ran into some issues...
There are so many registry changes by Exchange, that sometimes after a fail, you cannot reinstall. You have to force a complete uninstall and then reinstall. I was asked to use a MS utility one time to make that happen.

I am new to ArcServe 2000 and use the ArcServe Agent for Exchange to backup the store. I am getting an error about an open file \imcdata\queue.dat and some other .dat files.
I am more used to Backup Exec where I set the agent but deselect several Exchange files from the file system backup...
