Quark 4.1 on PC print problems

I suspect you are trying to print in CMYK colour and your monitor cannot display this colourspace. Try printing in RGB or greyscale. If you can see the RGB version, chances are your original prints were fine but you just couldn't see them.

upgraded to XP, now printing problems

I have no experience of upgrading an o/s as you describe, but I would try looking in utilities>usage>fonts and checking the 'more information' box to see if your Quark document is linking to your system's fonts. XP comes bundled with 'opentype' fonts which may have superseded other types of...

    style reverting

If you use the 'Get Text' command (Ctrl-E on a PC or Command-E on a Mac) the formatting of the imported text will replace your Quark style sheet, at least to some extent. Instead, you could try the following: 1. open your source document; 2. select and copy the required text; 3. paste text into...

    QX4 will not open

thread260-525755 has not been answered, but you may find the question offers a useful steer. Your antivirus or firewall sounds like the cuplrit, and even though you have uninstalled them some unwanted files and system behaviour probably remain.

    style reverting

How are you flowing in the text - are you using the 'get text' command or are you cutting and pasting from the source document? If I understand you correctly, it sounds like the text formatting of your source document is being introduced to your Quark textbox. You should be able to avoid this...

    ItemsSelected in multiselect listbox

Wee-heh! That works. I think this deserves a star and I strongly recommend that anybody using multiselect listboxes check that things are working EXACTLY as expected in ALL circumstances, and switch to this form of coding if anything is awry. I think the problem in my case may have stemmed from...

    ItemsSelected in multiselect listbox

Thanks very much, I was initially running this code without the 'exit for' - this was just one of many futile amendments I tried. The 'null' entries only occur when the itemsselected value is higher than the number of listrows, so the first one encountered is always after all the valid info has...

    ItemsSelected in multiselect listbox

OK, I've been trying a few things so I put two alternatives in here, the results are identical. Any thoughts you may have on which alternative is more efficient code would be appreciated. The 'if isnull(mylist.itemdata(myselection)..' bit is to prevent those inexplicable non-existent listrow...

    ItemsSelected in multiselect listbox

I'm using Access 97 and have some listboxes with extended multiselect enabled that are making me want to puke. I find that selecting all the fields in the listbox (using shift click) then deselected some (using ctrl-click) leads to errors when I run code that uses the ItemSelected array. The...

can I create a reverse union ('exclusion') query?

Brilliant, I knew it must be simpler than I was trying to make it. Thanks

can I create a reverse union ('exclusion') query?

Hello, Does anybody know of a way that I can create a reverse union query - I wish to show all records that appear in one query EXCEPT the ones that appear in another? The two queries I wish to compare come from very different sources and I can't just reverse the second query's SQL and use it...

How make image move with text

I think grouping is a red heering in this instance. Quark will treat a box embedded in text as if it were a piece of text. You can think of embedding a box as similar to inserting a single character of text at a huge point size. It WILL flow with the text. P.S. one day soon you will think back...

opening MS word files with tables in a mac with Quark

You could make a pdf of the tables then insert them into Quark as images. You might need the pdf filter xtension to do this.

How make image move with text

You can embed a box within text. Select and copy (or cut) the box with the object selection tool. Now switch to the text tool and paste within your text. You can then play around with runaround settings etc. until you acheive the desired effect. Remember that your box will be subject to all...
