I am sure this is a dumb question. we have a new 1721 router and i dont know how to get to it so that i can configure it. We had a 1720 that i could telnet to, because it already had an IP set. So how do I open a console with a router with out an IP to set an IP? thanks in advance! Eds

when i type show diag. Unknown WAN daughter card; on at 1720 router, with IOS 12.1. think i have to pay for the IOS upgrade, and That will do it? Any other way, I would hate to spend money on somehting that may not fix this. thanks.

Thanks, i hope that does it.. I am supposed to see a serial interface? My card doesnt have a serial port.. the t1 csu/dsu doesnt have anylights on.. but there is a green light under it that shows WIC 1 ok. thanks again..
