Thanks for all the feedback. The info has been VERY educational. I use SBC's wireless internet and it has some security, but as you guys/gals have pointed out, if a hacker doesnt have the tools , then they will build them. Gotta love Tek-Tips !!

I really appreicate the info. One question though: since more memory doesnt affect the fan, why would the fans get louder when certain applications are on and doesnt do much when others are on ? That is why I thought he needed more memory. I figured the computer was struggling with bigger apps...

Hello, I opened my cd player on my laptop and then after Iput the cd in to run it, nothing happened. I dont see the device in Device Manager. Since I can't open the cd player and play it, I can't install drivers fot it. Any ideas ? Thx
