Thanks all. So it was a "brain fart" in that it was working, just not the way I expected. I was testing by just calling the time recording and I could hear her just fine. :-)
Sorry, lost my PDF copy when my hard drive crashed a year back. But there are plenty of on-topic posts with instructions from my experience of trying to implement a fax server through VMI.
Request from client to turn off one particullarly loud saleman's ability to use speaker phone. I set Handsfree to None and HF answerback to N, but the handsfree feature still works.
Can the speaker phone feature not be disabled on the T7316? Or am I having a "brain fart" in my understanding on...
To clarify, I don't want the callers to that side companies phones to reach the main companies receptionist. If the caller presses 0, it should either do nothing or bounce them to another VM or extension within the side company. And obviously, I don't want to break the feature on the main...
Is there a way that when an inbound caller reaches VM on a CallPilot 150, that pressing 0 does not ring to the receptionist?
The company owner is setting up a side company, using the excess phones and phone numbers from a department that was dropped. But he is being very anal that there is no...
Thanks all for the help. Lugerlover was correct. I swapped the ports and the VM came on after a reboot.
Sigh...those simple things that leave you scratching your head...
I've got a CallPilot 150 hooked up to a MICS 6.1 that is "being cranky".
Users complained that they were getting "Inactive Feature" when they tried to get into VM. The CallPilot had all four port lights on. I tried to browse and ping the IP address and got nothing.
I tried unplugging and...
I'll try the NRU again when I go back to the client's site.
One problem is that some of the buttons I want to program are in the top row of buttons (I put buttons to page directly to each zone). I don't believe I can program them in the NRU. Am I wrong?
Hi senk1s, Thanks for the reply.
System is MICS 6.1.
The "test" was my check to see if the port was working by plugging in a T7316 directly on the punch block. (Some of the ports were not being "extended" by the MCK hardware.) The phone came on, so I removed it, repunched the wires on the...
I've got a T7316E that has some buttons that won't take programming. When checked with F*0, some say "Blank" and others say "Feature" and then some odd characters, like "i¢", and one says "Answer 0".
When I try to reprogram them with F*3, nothing changes.
I'm sure that this happened because...
If acewarlock's exerience is universal about USB adapters not working, I'll throw in that I've got a serial-to-ethernet adapter working just fine. Although it's more expensive, it means that I don't have to have a computer sitting next to the Norstar...

On the lighter side: While we waited for my system to upgrade from 6.1 to 7.0, I was discussing with my Nortel tech the PC Magazine review of the 3Com NBX and ShoreTel systems. I told him about all the nice features of true VoIP versus the MCK solution I just implemented.
Do you think the KSU...
