I have had this problem on our IBM NAS 200s. McAfee and Norton needed exclusions of the NetBackup .exe's in them. Particularly bpbkar32.exe. Also, if you're doing snapshots on the backup client exclude those directories / volumes from backup. Hope this helps.

I have had similar issues. This is not my area of expertise, but when I deleted lines out of the login scripts that referenced .vbs and .exe's all of our XP users were back in business.
This is probably not the case there, but thought it was important enough to mention.
AprilKK,
The same features are available on UNIX, but getting them to work has been a headache for me. Now everytihng has been as simple as an install and it works. This solution works for me because I always have too much to do unrelated to backup. I have not yet tried backing up Oracle.

2. The server remote administration software can be installed on any pc.
3. I personally have had much better luck on...
From Veritas:
Create a file named job.conf under the "<install path>\Veritas\netbackup\db\jobs\" directory.
Then, in the job.conf file, add an entry as follows:
keep_days <number_of_days_to_retain_entries>
where <number_of_days_to_retain_entries> is the numerical value for the...
I found the problem. The Symantec antivirus software was scanning every file opened for backup. This caused the processor and kernel to be pegged endlessly and eventually doing what was mentioned earlier. I fixed this before, but the new method here for managing Symantec forces the machine to...
