Help....win2k seems to pause when accessing certain things

Windows 2000 pausing when certain things are clicked.
I have a machine running a pc chips 810lr board with a duron 1ghz with 256 mb ram, running win2k. The win2k is an upgrade from win98se. (Also has novell but im not loggin in thru that as its not currently on network, but has been and will be). My problem is this....When clicking on say control...- phatty77
