Kebugcheckex error - code 44
check your drivers in Device Manager this is a driver problem related to multiple drivers operating on the same code, so look for duplicated drivers printers/scanners ......stuff like that i would look at first. just disable/delete the hardware and have windows search for it again to re-install- oNLy1

scandisk runs forever on startup
disable all programs in start up. Not to sure butt, check to see if its doing standard or thorough, if it says Thorough, then it could take up to 5 hours (no joke)- oNLy1

Presario freezes up
WINME + NORTON + DEFRAG = freeze I unloaded 3 Norton Static VxD files and the problem went away...........sounds odd, but thats what happened. but the problem was happening but not nearly as often. B4 it was about 1 out 4 / then unchecked the VxD's and then it was 1 out 10. so still there...- oNLy1
