I think I have it figured out! Thanks for the idea of the extension. It wasn't that but I have been asked to keep a version # visible on each one and at the end of the name is a V1.0 or V1.01 If I remove the .0 I don't have the problem. You guys are awesome and thank you so much for the support.

If the file is saved with the quotes you can't find it when you want to re-open it. You have to manually go into the folder and open it there and some of the people here don't know how to do that. It shows as a text file but had the Excel extension.

Sorry you are right. It is just the file name no path.

When we do a file save as we remove them from the beginning of the path and at the end of the file name Example: "C:\My Documents\APR Calculation.xls" should be C:\My Documents\APR Calculation.xls

Every time I go into page setup for any of my programs like Word, Excel, Adobe it comes up with this message. If you click OK a few times it will go away and you can continue, however with Adobe it brings up my browser window. Anybody know what this means? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is there any way to reverse a recovery done in XP? I can't access my files but the hard drive is indicating that the space is still in use. If anyone knows how to reverse the recovery or even get at my files I would really appreciate some help Thanks
