All,
Been ordered by federal task manager on private network to replace our Sendmail on Tru64 to a seperate RH Linux server to run Qmail.
I think I have it set up, however can't get smtp to run. The POP side downloads to clients with no problem. I can turn off authentication due to...
All,
Trying to reconfig a Sun Ultra SunOS 5.5.1 running sendmail, which formerly used to authenticate to a kerberos server to a different domain for the fed's. I think it's all reconfig, but when I attempt to connect via Outlook I'm receiving the subject error code. I searched MS site for...
A,
Yeah I saw krb.conf and krb.realms yesterday. All they have in them is the other admins domain name. I tried a couple of things, like commenting the domains out and completely renaming the files. Neither seems to have worked, I'm now trying to find an entry in a file that references...

Annihilannic,
First, thanks for the quick response and offering of a fading glimmer of hope. Alas, my newly acquired Sun does not have a pam.conf file anywhere to be found. I like your thinking though...
All,
I've narrowed down a problem with a Sun Ultra I inhereted. I can telnet in with no problems, however when using Outlook I see, via Network Monitor, that the server is looking for kerberos auth. from another server (which I don't have, as I don't use Kerb. on my portion of the LAN)...
All,
I inhereted a Sun Ultra running sendmail to replace a dying Tru64. I've gotten the sendmail.cf and all network setting changed to emulate the server it's replacing. The problem is that when a user tries to download/upload email via an Outlook client they are getting prompted for...
Thanks again Anni. As I find out more about this server, I tend to believe you on authentication in popper issues. It's a strange set-up if accepted here, but when you work for the feds as a subcontractor you tend to get in the habit of not asking too many questions.
Annihilannic,
Thanks for the response, I should have added that I've reconfigured sendmail to also assume the id of the original mail server. Since I posted this I've spoken with the person that originally configured the Sun and found that he never ran Kerberos, so now I'm looking at some...
All,
I just inhereited a Sun Ultra to assume our Tru64's role as sendmail server. I got it reconfigured to assume the role/id of the other box and it seems to think it's the new box (new network, et al). However there's and issue with clients connecting via a term server/outlook. It...
dblair,
Thanks for the replies. The prob was it wasn't halting at prompt and going to a login that noone here had. I found out that Tru64 Alpha's actually have a halt button you can hit at the right time to get the prompt.
My (alpha) kingdom for HP's....

All,
How do I break the autoboot on a Tru64 5.1 built by a previous sysadmin (no longer here/avail). I need to load new OS on the server but it autoboots and we don't have any login info (including root). Is there a way to interupt the autoboot process so I can run the boot from cd command...
All,
Been asked by management to implement NetSight on the LAN, however security is requiring SNMP V2 or higher on all servers to be monitored. I have some older 4.0 servers, but my research shows the 4.0 only runs SNMP1. Is it possible to upgrade SNMP versions on a 4.0 box?
Thanks for...
