Report to Report linking and dynamic parameter values

Greetings, I installed Datalink viewer which is a third-party program that can dynamically read parameter values when you a run a report. From what I understand, the way you set up your report for it to work is you name your parameter "filename.rpt" and the datalink viewer will automatically...

Crystal reports 8.5 picklists...can they dynamically update?

Howdy folks, Im still kinda new to crystal reports but im using crystal 8.5 and reporting via odbc to a progress database. Im using picklists for most of my parameters that users change during runtime of the compiled EXE report. Now it seems like the pick lists do not self update, and are only...

Holycow thanks a bunch to both of you! I hadn't even noticed parameters...I was just using my conditions in the select expert. Parameters do EXACTALLY what I needed, and then some!

    Select wildcard

Greetings, I am using crystal 8.5 connecting via ODBC to a progress database and was wondering if there is a wildcard value I could use? like * or something? I need to use a character as a wildcard because I want to setup multiple select conditions that the user can choose to change at run...

Odd problem (bug?) with crystal 8.5 and group header number formatting

Crystal 8.5, reporting from an ODBC connection to a progress database. Exporting to CSV, it just seems odd because I have never had problems with exporting the correct number format in the past...only now that the number is in a group header Thanks!

Odd problem (bug?) with crystal 8.5 and group header number formatting

Greetings, It seems that even when you specify a number format for a field in a group header, it is ignored. I specified the pure integer format (5555555) no commas, no decemials, no negitives...never had a problem using this formating feature before in the details section. Anyway, even...

    Suppress after

Well I figured out a work around: I just put all the fields in a group (grouped by the packing slip num) and eliminated the details section. Works great =)

    Suppress after

Thanks, I tried doing that before but it didn't seem to supress the records. I guess the problem is a bit difficult for me to explain correctly. What I have is 3 tables shipto customer customercontacts The shipto table contains unique packing slip ids BUT sense I have to join this table to the...

    Suppress after

I am using crystal reports 8.5 and reporting from a progress 91d database. Is there a way to completely suppress entire duplicated rows (not just hide the field)? Example ShiptoID 3333 3333 3333 3344 3344 Desired result 3333 3344

    Exporting Subreports to Text

Hi guys, I am using crystal commandline to run a crystal 8.5 report and export it to CSV every hour. One of my reports has a subreport and the subreport is not exported, if I go to print->export within crystal reports it doesn't include the subreport... Is there anyway to setup the report with...

    Suppress Text based on condition

Howdy folks, Im working in crystal reports 8.5 reporting through an ODBC connection to a progress database. Im trying to create a formula that will supress the email address if the rolecode does not equal UPS. I came up with this but im getting errors: if {TableCnt.RoleCode} = "UPS" then...

Schedualed Task Not Running Batch File BUT works fine when manualy run

Greetings all, I have a windows XP machine that does nothing but runs schedualed task batch files. It simply stays logged in as the local administrator all day/night. However sometimes some of the batch files do not run by themselves, the schedual runs and the dos window pops up but the script...
