I have a problem. My PC is a Compaq Presario 5242. When I start the PC, it never boots in BIOS (with the memory testing and the option of hitting DEL key to enter BIOS). It just goes straight to the Windows Logo screen. Then it goes to Dos virus scan, then back to logo screen and then Windows...

I forgot to mention that. I already downloaded that software after I got into windows again 3 days ago (scanreg/fix) Halfway thru running the test, it froze. I can never get to fully test the memory no matter what I do. That's why I suspect a RAM stick error there.

I'm not sure what recovery disk U're refering to. I don't have Windows 98 installation ROM or in HDD. There's only one recovery exe program but that is compaq's and what it does is restore it back to factory settings...wiping out everything and I'm not even sure if running that won't need a...
