    Thanks, Tony. I just saved the reference doc to a different network drive and now the hyperlink works! I don't really understand why, but I'm happy. Thanks again for your help.

    Thanks, Gerry. I checked the hyperlink properties, & word did convert it. I can correct it, but as soon as I save again, it converts back to to invalid address. I've tried it repeated times. Any other suggestions?
