You could try something as simple as deleting the old task, and creating a new one.....I had a similar problem, all the settings were correct, but no updates occuring. When I created new task, worked fine...give it a try? T.

Ooops. Too late..... Any way to remove the agent safely, other than by deleting the folder in the C:\ drive? (Have manually installed VirusScan 8.00 and sdat 4430 in the meantime - update still not working though.)

Followed your advice, and now it all seems to be working. EICAR tests generating both network and email alerts. It was the adjustment to the Virus Scan Alert Manager Alerts Policies that did it. Thanks very much for your help!! Tom B.

Well, the system was doing a pull from the repository originally, but as suggested, I have deleted the task and recreated it. I would have checked out the task logs - except they just hourglass and don't open, and become non-responsive. Which is a whole new problem in itself, I guess...
