Hi Guys, I was hoping someone could help me as in all my years of experience in VMWare I have never seen this happen before ... until yesterday/today.
We were in the process of deleting/commiting snapshots when one VM, whilst saying it had a snapshot in Snapshot Manager, didn't have the option...
A little bit more information (I have only just been looking into this), but it only seems to be when Citrix is installed. Apparently from what a colleague tells me before then it is okay... hmmm...
Hi guys, was wondering if someone could help me. We have two blade enclosures which contain BL460c G7 Blades.
These blades have Windows 2003 installed. The problem is, when we reboot the G7's they take almost exactly 30 minutes to shutdown. Startup seems okay.
Our G6 blades and G1 blades...
Guys, (apologies if in wrong forum, not sure if should belong here or Windows 7 forum) we have just installed a new Windows 2008 server with the print server role. Everything seems to work okay until we noticed a slight issue when running netstat from a Windows 7 client.
The Windows 2008 print...
When you created the new DC did you give it enough time to replicate after telling it it was no longer a GC?
The possible problem is that your AD still thinks that that DC still exists as thats what happens with a forced uninstall. The info for that DC still exists within AD.
Now this is when...
Have you tried removing one of the offending machines (ensuring you know the local administrator password first (I have seen people who have done this and have not :) )) from the domain and re-added it?
It may be worth trying that if your investigations lead you to believe it is machine related...
No, not a .vbs, just a bog-standard .cmd will do, once the command line is proven to be working.
If you are only running it once and never again, you could just run it from the command prompt (although you will need to do it from a machine with the Server Admin Tools installed or a DC).
Try stopping and restarting the Print Spooler service (if you can without causing too much disruption). Then attempt a reinstall.
If that does not work, try stopping the print spooler, delete the print driver files in the spool folder (ensuring you only delete those files associated with that...
A good place to start would by using the commands dsquery and dsget. Sorry, I have not got the time to provide anymore than that, but it is a starting point.

Can someone please let me know if it is possible to import the image of a failed backup?
Lets say, for instance, that a backup gets to 215GB and then fails, surely the data that it has backed up is possible to get at?
You say that if you ping the IP it does NOT respond and that it is across the WAN? If so, check your DHCP scope has the correct entry for default gateway(003 Router).
The easiest way would be on one of the affected PC's run IPCONFIG /all and ensure all entries are as they should be.
NT4 requires a rebuild to demote/promote from/to BDC's unfortunately.
However, I believe there are 3rd party utils that will do it, I would imagine though that you would have no chance of support from Microsoft if you did and things went wrong.
