This computer has been working fine and not it will not boot. I get the start screen (bios before windows) but that's it. I doesn't check floppy or anything. If I jump the motherboard (by the battery) it will then fire up just fine.
On my Windows XP Home, the year automatically changes. It has done it twice and seems to happen after an automatic Windows update. It changed the year to Dec. 4, 2037 and the other time to the year 2074.

Yes Mat, I think your right. It does post as a 1200+. I really can't tell any difference in the performance, this is just a basic workstation. Everything works fine I just could not figure out the difference.

I have a duron 1200 which is read correctly by the bios but xp home reads it as 894. Is the clock speed set wrong? The board doesn't have the option to change clock speed and it appears to read it correctly.

I can ping the loopback address but I cannot ping the gateway (or anything else). I put in a different network card and even moved it to another pci slot. I cannot get on the network.
