    Computer won't boot.

A bios flash may work. It's been a long time, how is this best done.

I do mean changing the jumpers to clear the BIOS. I have already replaced the battery.

    Computer won't boot.

This computer has been working fine and not it will not boot. I get the start screen (bios before windows) but that's it. I doesn't check floppy or anything. If I jump the motherboard (by the battery) it will then fire up just fine.

    year changes

On my Windows XP Home, the year automatically changes. It has done it twice and seems to happen after an automatic Windows update. It changed the year to Dec. 4, 2037 and the other time to the year 2074. Jeff

Yes Mat, I think your right. It does post as a 1200+. I really can't tell any difference in the performance, this is just a basic workstation. Everything works fine I just could not figure out the difference. Thank you all, Jeff

    Reading incorrect processor speed.

I have a duron 1200 which is read correctly by the bios but xp home reads it as 894. Is the clock speed set wrong? The board doesn't have the option to change clock speed and it appears to read it correctly. Jeff

    motherboard or processor

My computer will not power up. I've checked everything. The only way to get it to power is to remove the processor. So, is the MB or the processor.

Motherboard will not except 2nd dimm

Putting the dimm in slot 2 does not work. The computer will not boot (no beep codes), nothing. Today, I put in a 512, it will boot but XP locks up?
