    PCI sound card causes WinXP SP1 to hang

    Have recently taken ownership of a CMI8738 6 channel PCI sound card. On installing and restarting my PC, after a few seconds it hangs.... nothing to be done but switching off. Cannot get to the stage of updating drivers or checking for conflicts... Anyone seen this? jc

    yep, already using lmhosts and hosts file.... dsclient is someting i have not done yet..

    Hi: Banging my head against wall on this one... Have a Windows 2000 Server running AD Windows 95 Clients using TCP/IP and DNS/WINS to find server; intermittently get "No domain server available to validate password" Clicking on Cancel on this error message takes me back to the logon...
