Deleting an NTFS dir while in DOS, how?

Hey, what if I were to convert the NTFS partition (C:) to FAT32, just so that I could delete the Windows folder? Would this affect files like MP3s and text documents? JDl

Deleting an NTFS dir while in DOS, how?

I am reinstalling WinXP over a partial install, and since I ignore whether the installation will replace every file found there I would feel better deleting the Windows directory before attempting a reinstall. Thanks in advance, JDL

    Is my sound card full-duplex?

Thanks ftechguy, I did try last weekend, but whether I started the conversation or my friend, it always failed. It wouldn't give a reason. But I am almost sure I did it in the past (like a year ago), I just can't bet on it :( Unfortunately I don't know anyone else with MSN Messenger and a mic to...

    Is my sound card full-duplex?

Thanks for replying norty303 :) No, I am not doing music. I just want to do some voice-chatting over MSN Messenger ;) According to what I read in its HELP file one has to have at least a half-duplex sound card. JDL

I have carefully and thoroughly checked the MB from various angles without finding any buldging neither rust, nor leaking :( JDL

    Freezing on startup, why?

Ski, I already know that 128Mb SDram chip is ok, I used it on another system, it worked fine. As for what you suggest doing to check the HD, unfortunately BEFORE I get that far I get a "Primary Master hard disk fail" message (which is already not very encouraging). After I press F1 to continue I...

    Wooden case

I remember have seen it done before. In fact, there was a step-by-step manual in a popular case moding site, I wish I could remember the URL. I would google it. Good luck. JDL http://www.sunnylandbaja.com

    Freezing on startup, why?

Oh, and as for chipping and or cracks, I didn't see any, nor rust. JDL http://www.sunnylandbaja.com

    Freezing on startup, why?

I forgot to mention... it invariably freezes while testing the ram (which is missleading IMHO, for you would think the prob is the ram, but remember I have already switched it over with other chips). So the only way I have managed to go any further is by skipping the memory test (using ESC)...
