well it means that the cd you put in does not have the start up files needed to boot your computer up. all you need to do if you want to install windows 2000 is pop in the windows 2000 cd. Have the cd in the drive before you power on. thats all windows 2000 is cd bootable which means it already...
IF the cd player is a slave on your secondary IDE/udma 66 cable then what do you have set to the master on the secondary cable? if you dont have anything there you should set the cd rom to be the master/single at least this is the first to come to mind but you where a little vague as to what...
I dont think its its a power issue all the l;ghts come on and the fan spins. take the mobo out of the case take out the other pci/isa cards ie modem, sound... turn the puter on to see if it you hear any beeps and get video feed if so Its a grounding problem... the board may not be properly...
ok your windows 2000 cd is bootable which means it has all system files on it including it's own fdisk and format. simply have the cd in the computer before you power up and that should bring you to a blue screen just follow the direction from there....... :-D
