Problem sending to AOL
I had an issue with aol once - wasn't getting the error you are describing but the messages were not legible on the aol side. I changed the Exchange 2000 message format to go as plain text instead of HTML and things looked much better.- jammin114

Terminal Server log off
W2k group policy --> user configuration --> administrative templates--> start menu & task bar--> diasble & remove the Shut Down command.
