I can understand how that would work, however could you take the volume database from an NT/2000 server and merge it with a volume database on a solaris system? I would imagine not, but if we don't have a windows server available for our dr testing it would be a serious problem.

I don't see why teaming them wouldn't increase the ability of the master/media server to handle more data throughput, however you may want to look at your clients to be sure they are driving the port(s) enough anyway. Many times you aren't even filling the pipe so load balancing wouldn't help...
