When I setup a pc/laptop to use the cisco vpn I always place a copy of the .pcf file in the profile directory. The user can then be talk through using the copy to replace the original.
We had the same problems with all our pcs and laptops, had to just leave them to get on with it and they all eventually came through the problem. Reckon MS must have changed the way the updates are applied????
Thanks for that. I've been in touch with MS about a WSUS distributable fix but they were noncomittal and offered me the hotfix as the answer. Luckily we do not have too many machines with the problem. MS star again!!!!!!

I use a piece of inexpensive software called DeviceLock. It's simple and effective as both stand alone or networked and can be setup using GPs. It allows control of CD/DVD writers, bluetooth, HDD, to name but a few as well as USB.
